The Odupara - Palangad road has been damaged before approximately 3 years ago and is being ignored by officials. Throughout the time several gutters are formed and the traffic through the road become very difficult. The Odupara - Palangad road is passing through paddy fields and hill side. Because of this, during the rain season, the road get easily damaged.

The situation of the road become very worse during the last 2009. The autorikshas - the only transportation method available at night could not travel through the road. After a long time the Narikkuni Grama Pachayath decided to do patch work on the road. But the local peoples demanded the road must be re-tarred. At last the officials agreed to the demand and re-tarred the road.

The repairing work started during the last of December 2009 and completed before the new year.
